West Dallas Community School Volunteer opportunities include tutoring, counseling, and mentoring during the school day and after-school, sharing your talents (piano, guitar, chess, needlepoint lessons, rocketry, etc.), chaperoning field trips, administrative help, and special projects (health screenings, book fairs, fundraising events, etc.). You are invited to take a school tour, attend a chapel service, visit a classroom, or have lunch with the students. Date: M-F Time: Hours vary

Voice of Hope Reading Outreach, "Drop Everything and Read" 2-3 volunteers are needed to go to homes of children to deliver food baskets and to spend time reading with the children. This typically happens on Saturdays between 10:30am-1:00pm. Hours vary, please contact Kimberly Jones.

Mercy Street Receiving & Organizing World Vision Donations Once a month Mercy Street receives donated items from the World Vision Storehouse. Items are then distributed to families in West Dallas or used at Mercy Street. Volunteers are needed to help pick up the in-kind gifts from the World Vision Storehouse and are needed to sort and distribute these items. Date: Once a month, Time varies

Voice of Hope Host a Week of Vacation Bible School About 30 volunteers (2-3 per 9 classrooms) are needed to host a theme bible camp week with crafts, songs, games, and activities for the students in our Summer Day Camp program. Sign up by January to confirm your preferred week during summer 2011.
