Job Opening: Career Navigator / Case Manager

ACT (Advocates for Community Transformation) is a rapidly growing non-profit justice organization offering a new model of ministry that uses the legal system to empower inner-city residents to fight crime on their streets while sharing with them the hope of the gospel. ACT’s vision is to see safe neighborhoods, where crime is no longer tolerated and dignity and hope are restored. ACT currently serves multiple neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas and is positioned for expansion; the organization operates as a 501c3 with 25+ full-time employees and a $3.1 million annual budget.

ACT is growing its Community Advocate team by seeking individuals with fluency in Spanish who can bring a disciplined presence and passionate enthusiasm for ACT’s mission and vision. The ideal candidate must be a servant-leader who exhibits a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a passion for social justice, and the leadership ability to effectively shepherd others.

ACT Community Advocates educate, empower, and mobilize inner-city residents to fight crime in their communities. The role requires a strong sense of justice as well as a tactical, investigative, bold, and tenacious character necessary to inspire and organize residents. ACT Community Advocates are highly relational and possess a keen ability to engage individuals in high crime urban neighborhoods with a compassionate spirit and a strong level of discernment. The ideal candidate will have experience utilizing this broad skill set across a wide range of relationships, cultures and environments.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

College degree required with 3 – 5 years work experience. Preferred experience includes time spent in a Christian-based nonprofit performing cross-cultural work and/or direct sales experience that can easily translate into inner-city, relational work.

COMPENSATION:

Full time position. Paid benefits include health insurance and a 401K plan. Salary commensurate with experience.

Program Associate (ASPIRE After-School Program)

The job of the Program Associate is to work with individuals and small groups of K – 12th grade students under the supervision of the Program Manager. The Program Associate will provide supervision and instruction to students that will create a positive and fun learning environment and allow for students’ personal, social, and academic development. The candidate will also be responsible for conducting Bible study with program participants. Looking for creative, enthusiastic team players with strong communication skills. Must have on year experience working with youth in a group setting and bilingual highly desired. High school diploma or GED required.</b

HOURS:

ASPIRE After-School: Sept. – May; Mon. – Fri.; 2:00-6:30pm (hourly position)

Support Services Associate:

The Support Services Associate provides operational support for all areas of Voice of Hope.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

-Cleans facilities and vehicles as assigned or according to the facilities maintenance schedule following chemical and facility safety guidelines

-Assists with maintenance work as needed and/or assigned

-Assists with food services following food safety guidelines

-Drives company vehicles as assigned including bu not limited to picking up donations and vendor orders. Follows all legal and VOH safety regulations while operating vehicles.

-Consistently demonstrates position-required behaviors in fulfillment of VOH’s mission

-Assists with ASPIRE after-school program and/or the Summer Day Camp Program as assigned

-May be required to assist with other VOH programs as needed and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

-High school diplomas or GED equivalent

-Over 21 Texas driver’s license and clean driving record REQUIRED

-Commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement HIGHLY PREFERRED

-Food handler certification a plus

-Handyman skills a plus

-Must be willing to help supervise children if needed

-Background and reference checks required.

Requirements:

-Able to read and follow directions

-Willing to be flexible as tasks may change and complete tasks in a timely manner

-Able to be courteous under tense situations

-Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

-Able to turn, bend, reach, and use a ladder
