Three of our Ministry Partners offer mentoring opportunities and it's a HUGE need! Become a mentor today!

HIS Bridge Builders


  • Who you'd mentor: employment training students, ages 18-45
  • Age restriction to be a mentor: 19 years or older
  • Time commitment: Initially one hour lunch each week for 5 weeks then flexible schedule to be determined by mentor and mentee but at least 1/month meeting.  Prior to mentoring there is a 2 hour mentor orientation.
  • Additional restrictions/prerequisites: Statement of faith – will need to affirm that you agree with HISBB statement of Christian faith
  • Mentor Orientation: Date TBD (two time options: 10am OR 6pm)
  • Who is HISBB?: HIS Bridge Builders is a faith-based organization which unites Christians across the city to restore urban communities.  We believe that community restoration begins with individual transformation.
Mercy Street


  • Who you'd mentor: A student in the 4th-12th grade in the Pinkston High School Feeder Pattern​, including Heights Prep.
  • Age restriction to be a mentor: 21 years or older
  • Time commitment: We encourage 4 contacts each month, 2 one-on one and 2 other forms of communication, phone call, text, email, write an email to your mentor coordinator and have them take it over to lunch at the students' school, etc.​
  • Additional restrictions/prerequisites: Attendance of a Mercy Street 101 orientation, submission of a Mentoring Application, Background check, interview with mentor coordinator, MinistrySafe Sexual Abuse Training - if all is completed without any
  • Who is Mercy Street?: Mercy Street builds leaders to build a better West Dallas.  We do this through three strategic planks: mentoring, sports and our Leadership Institute!  Learn more at our website!  Come build a leader with us!
West Dallas Community School

 
  • Who you'd mentor: A student at WDCS, grades PK-8th
  • Age restriction to be a mentor: 18 years or older
  • Time commitment: Committing to a once a month interaction with the student (minimum one year)
  • Additional restrictions/prerequisites: Application, background check, sexual abuse training
  • Who is West Dallas Community School?: West Dallas Community school is a private, classical, Christian school created to change the lives of the children of West Dallas – for the good of the city and the glory of God.
